New Windsor School Library

Library Vision Statement

Our Library Centre is a place of relaxation, research, and information-gathering, reflecting our cultural diversity, providing a safe, enjoyable, and welcoming environment.

Opening Hours

The library is open from 8:30-3:00 Monday to Friday, including lunchtimes after 1pm for students to borrow books, browse and enjoy.  All classes have a weekly scheduled time to come to the library for reading, research and library skills based programme.

Staff

Our library is staffed by our Library Manager, Tatyana Bogomazova.

Parent Library

We have a small collection of books to help you and your child, including books on parenting, health and special needs, relationships, schooling, etc. See one of the library team if you would like to borrow books from this collection.

Borrowing

All students must bring a library bag if they wish to borrow books from the school library. Library bags can be purchased from the school office for $1.70.  All students can borrow two books for two weeks.   If they need them for longer they are welcome to bring them in and have them renewed.  We do not fine for overdues, however we will charge for lost or damaged books.   Students are encouraged to take care and responsibility for their borrowed books, so that other children can also benefit from enjoying them.

Library Catalogue

You can see the books in our school library through our online catalogue, Accessit.

Reserves

If you would like to reserve a book that is out on loan, or one from the new book display please  send Tatyana an email request – tbogomazova@newwindsor.school.nz.

This is your library and we welcome your suggestions.  If there is a book you would like to recommend we purchase for our school library or if you have any other suggestions for new services or or content please see Tatyana or send her an email tbogomazova@newwindsor.school.nz
