Teacher Only Day

ACCORD DATES

Parents, please note that as part of our Teacher/Principal’s contract settlement last year, the ‘Accord’ that accompanies our settlement offer includes the total of 8 ‘Teacher Only day’ that a school can use across the three year term of the contracts agreement without extending the school year to cover them.  Therefore New Windsor School will be having a ‘Teacher Only day” on Thursday 9th April (last day  of Term 1).  On this day school will be closed.  Please take note of this date.  It means that instead of New Windsor School finishing on Thursday 9th April for the Easter public holidays (and term holiday), our students last day for Term 1 will be Wednesday 8th April.  This is our first notification to parents.  There will be more reminders throughout the next 8 weeks.

What does “The Accord” mean?

This is an agreement between the Teacher Unions and the Minister of Education, as part of the settlement to give effect to building a high trust environment where the Teaching profession is highly regarded, sustainable and is fit for now and the future of learning.
